In addition to being the Music/Movement Teacher at Forestville Academy, Sierra loves teaching privately on flute, piano, and voice. Growing up in Monterey County, she has performed throughout the Bay Area in both vocal and instrumental ensembles. Sierra originally started her musical journey on the piano at age 5, and went on to qualify for Honors performances for her local Certificate of Merit (Music Teachers’ Association of California) piano chapter. She has played the flute for over 13 years in a variety of musical settings (classical, jazz, pop, marching band). In college, she took lessons from Kathleen Reynolds, principal flute of the Santa Rosa Symphony, with whom she learned some of the most intricate flute solos. Her greatest achievement in vocal performance is performing with the Carmel Bach Festival Choir in Carmel.
Sierra graduated with a Bachelors of Music in 2023 from Sonoma State University. |
